The People, Culture, and Lifestyles of Tibet – Slide Show

Lake Manasarovar

Tibet is very unique, may be because of its spiritual culture and geography. People from all over the world are drawn to this land of mystery.

Tibet is considered as The Roof of the World because of its location on high plateau. The elevation is reported averaging at 14,000 feet above sea level. For many of us here in Pacific North West, it is almost equivalent to the height of Mt. Rainier (14,410 feet).

Mt. Kalashi

The slideshow will cover a wide range of interesting activities, from Potala Palace at the city of Lhasa, to trekking around the holy mountain, Mt. Kalashi; from exploring the Tibetan yak-hair tent, to spinning prayer wheels at the temple. From traveling on paved road in the city to riding on 4WD on dangerous, rocky hill roads at the country side. You will be trilled by the mix of adventure, hiking, spiritual experience and cultural exposure all in the same afternoon.

You also will have a chance to see how Tibetan live at rural areas especially the Eastern Tibet who mostly are herders and live a nomadic lifestyle. For many of us who has not seen yaks before, you will have lots of chances here to check them out.We even prepared the Tibetan Butter Tea for the slideshow and it is FREE for those who are brave enough to try.
