Exclusive Ocean Retreat with Sonam Rinpoche

Imagine spending two peaceful days by the ocean, meditating or just relaxing; letting your stress melt away. Meditation, Dharma Classes and Discussion sections will be led by Sonam Rinpoche, a Tibetan Monk born in Tibet; He was recognized as the incarnation of Ahzom Losel Rinpoche by H.H. 14th Dalai Lama, H.H. Jamga Rinpoche and H.H. Dordrubchan Rinpoche.

It is a wonderful opportunity to get to know Sonam Rinpoche in person, and to receive his blessings and teachings. Vajrayana Dharma Foundation strives to improve the quality of our lives, to cultivate compassion, inner peace and happiness though the practice of Buddhist philosophy.

Ocean Retreat at Kayak Point Yurt Village

Duration: 3 days, 2 nights
When: Check in Oct 17 (Fri) after 6pm, check out Oct 19 (Sun) noon
Group size: small group only 25 - 30 people
Destination: Standwood, WA. North end of Port Susan on Puget Sound
Driving distance: 47 miles (approximately 55 minutes) from downtown Seattle

Focus: Meditation and Preliminary Practice (Introduction)
Idea for those who is new at meditation or Buddhist practice. This introduction session will cover some basic foundations and thoughts on the Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. Lots of opportunities for Q&A sessions with Sonam Rinpoche.

Your itinerary includes:
1 hour meditation on Friday night
2 hours meditation on Saturday morning
2 hours dharma discussion and class on Saturday afternoon
2 hours dharma discussion and class on Saturday night
2 hours meditation on Sunday morning

Shared accomodation, 4/5 people per YURT*.
Restrooms and showers are nearby

4 meals (vegetarian - better for meditation)
- Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Sunday breakfast

* YURT is a circular, domed tents traditionally served as shelters for Mongolian nomads. The yurts are 16 feet in diameter all enclosed in light-colored canvas with a locking door andaccommodate up to five persons. Amenities includeelectric heaters and outlets, skylights, wood floors, interior lighting and windows. Each YURT comes furnished with a futon for two persons, a bunkbed for three persons (1 top/2 bottom) and coffee table.

Sorry. No pets in the yurts please(Park Rules)

Please bring your pillow, beddings (sheet and blanket), cookware and utensil (if you want to cook). Meditation floor cushion will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own special meditation pillow.

Price: $ 99/person. $10 non-refundable reservation fee due at reservation and balance by Sept 15.
There will be a supervised kid friendly program which take advantage of the outdoor setting during the meditation/class sessions.


SESSION 2: Ocean Retreat at Cama Beach

When: Check in Oct 31 (Fri) after 6pm, check out Nov 2 (Sun) noon
Group size: small group only 25 - 30 people
Destination: Cama Beach, Camano Island, WA.
Driving distance: 66 miles (approximately 80 minutes) from downtown Seattle

Focus: Meditation and Preliminary Practice
Idea for those who has gone through session 1 or has some previous experience with meditation or Buddhist practice. This session will cover more in depth on the basic foundations and thoughts on the Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. Lots of opportunities for Q&A sessions with Sonam Rinpoche.

1 hour meditation on Friday night
2 hours meditation on Saturday morning
2 hours dharma discussion and class on Saturday afternoon
2 hours dharma discussion and class on Saturday night
2 hours meditation on Sunday morning

* Ocean side cabins. Each is 14x20 in size with a living room, kitchen and a bedroom. Amenities includeelectric heaters and outlets, lighting, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and windows. Each cabin comes furnished with two double beds for 4 persons. Some cabins have bunkbeds in the bedroom for 3 persons (one top/2 bottom).
